My name is Shahpar (she/her), I am currently writing from London Early in the morning in a January cold morning!

I am a full time  Lecturer at London College of Fashion and I normally teach on topics related to Business studies, which does include: Business Strategy, Fashion Marketing &  Branding & International Business.

I also enjoy research informed way of teaching since,  I am passionate about incorporating my research into my teaching practice.

I am so looking forward to start my PGCERT and deepen my knowledge in teaching and also to meet new colleagues through the course.

It is the new year, so why don’t I start this message by wishing everyone a great start to 2022.

A little bit about me: Originally I am from Iran and I grew up in Tehran which is the capital city.  Soon after finishing my postgraduate degree back home, I realized I wanted to get a new experience through living and getting further education abroad. I left home for good back in late 90s and first settled  in the Netherlands for a year and half for a rewarding and amazing postgraduate degree, followed by half year living in Belgium, when I attended an international internship project. Once I finalized my postgraduate degree I  set me off to UK and  moved to London back in 2001.

I came to live in London since 2001 and ever since I have not looked back. Fast forward last 20 plus odd years, my life has transformed and evolved from being a graduate student to becoming a wife, mother, researcher and lecturer in multiple UK higher education institutes.

I am grateful for all the opportunities to date and passionate about contributing in a positive way to the society and communities that I feel I belong to and I am part of.

Since finishing my graduate degree at King’s College London and starting off my career as an academic, I have come a long way to embrace and enjoy teaching in a wider sense. Specially since joining LCF on the capacity of HPL since 2018 I do consider teaching is somehow my new found love and more than ever at this stage I do enjoy working in Higher education and having the opportunity to teach and learn from my peers, and fellow students alike. This is an inspiring video I found on power of teaching that each of us can exert and make a difference in each others life:)

Watch out till the end when he completes his story by saying:

I learned that there is a difference between being the best in the world and being the best for the world.

Welcome to myblog.arts. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!
This video is inspiring as I noted we will be having sessions on Microblog. According to Lindsay’s initial session on induction week we will be exposed to microblogging through teaching with Objects. This made me to look up for further information . I came across to this interesting video .
It also made me think about my own teaching practice and how I can incorporate object based teaching in my own way of teaching in Business education. 🙂
